My Story

​I'm from Blackburn, Lancashire and I moved to Leeds in West Yorkshire in 2002 for a new job in science. 

I knew since my school days that I wanted to be a biological scientist, and my dreams came true! I've worked in vaccine development (I made the world's first clinical trial batches of the influenza nasal spray vaccine FluMist in 1996) and since 2002 I've worked on medical devices used in the NHS and private hospitals, mostly implants. I'm now an independent scientific and technical consultant to the medical devices and pharmaceutical industries, helping to save lives and ensure that patients have a good quality of life as far as possible.

My interest in holistic therapies like Reiki started in 2019. It makes complete sense to me as a scientist, working in healthcare and I'm more than happy to explain in simple terms how it works. Reiki doesn't replace medicine and cannot be used as a 'cure' - anyone who says this is misleading you. As well as being a Reiki Practitioner, I am doing scientific research into Reiki, as a member of the UKRF Research Group. We are all scientists, and are focused on generating more clinical evidence to show to doctors and other medical professionals that Reiki works and can be used alongside medicine to help people suffering from stress and anxiety. Several NHS hospitals are working with us on this.
